Radian Weapons
Radian Weapons Magwell
A flared magwell that funnels reloads without adding meaningful printing width.
Overview
Aluminum, tool-less install, and shaped to blend into the 43X frame rather than bolt onto it. The flare is aggressive enough to guide a magazine under stress but shallow enough to stay concealable.
Why I chose this
Better reload funnel for classes and matches, plus a small ergonomic gain in grip feel.
Real world performance
About 0.15s faster on slide-lock reloads across 40 timed attempts. No interference with S15 mags or the mag release.
Concealed carry impact
Negative. It's the biggest single contributor to printing at the base of the grip. Manageable with a claw holster and a slight forward cant.
Kourtni's personal notes
Not marketing copy — carry experience
This is the most optional part on the list and I'm keeping it because I like it, not because you need it. Reload speed improvement in my testing: about 0.15 seconds on a slide-lock reload. If you're a competition shooter that matters. If you're carrying, you will almost certainly never reload. What it genuinely improves is the feel of the grip — the flare gives my pinky a shelf and slightly increases the grip length in a way that makes the gun feel more like a 19. The cost is the one thing that matters for carry: it's the part most likely to print at the bottom of your shirt when you bend over. If concealment is your top priority, this is the first thing I'd cut from the build.
Pros
- Faster, more forgiving reloads
- Improves grip feel and pinky support
- Tool-less install, excellent finish
Cons
- Increases printing at the bottom of the grip
- Marginal benefit for pure carry use
- Adds cost without adding capability
Installation tips
- Remove the mag first and check for interference with your magazine baseplates.
- Verify magazines still drop free with the magwell installed.
Lessons learned
- Test every magazine you own after installing. Some aftermarket baseplates bind.
Mistakes to avoid
- Installing it right before a class without verifying mag drop.
- Buying it before you have good magazines and a holster.
Alternative products
No magwell
The correct answer for most pure-carry builds.
Strike Industries magwell
Half the price, slightly rougher finish.
Upgrade path: Last item on the list. Add it only after everything functional is handled.
Frequently asked questions
Will it print more?+
Yes, slightly. A claw or wedge on your holster mitigates most of it.
Does it work with S15 mags?+
Yes, including the aluminum baseplates.
Overall recommendation
A nice-to-have. Buy it for range and class use; cut it first if concealment is the priority.
