Overview

A match-grade drop-in barrel with a target crown and TiN coating that's genuinely slicker than nitride. It exists in this build for one functional reason — threads for the compensator — and one honest reason: it looks incredible.

Why I chose this

I needed 1/2x28 threads for the HC43 comp and wanted a finish that would survive daily carry sweat without wearing to bare steel.

Real world performance

~2,600 rounds. No feeding issues with hollow points, which is the real test for aftermarket barrels. Finish is unmarked apart from the normal slide-rail wear line.

Concealed carry impact

Neutral on its own. The thread protector adds nothing; the comp is what changes holster fit.

Let me be honest in a way most reviews won't be: this barrel did not make me a better shooter. Groups at 15 yards were statistically the same as the factory barrel. What it did do is give me threads for the comp and a finish that hasn't shown wear in two years of carry. So the value case is 'threads plus durability plus it looks like a million bucks,' not 'accuracy.' If you want threads for a fraction of the cost, there are $120 options that shoot just as well and look plain. I chose gold because this build is also content, and content that looks good gets watched. That's a legitimate reason for me and possibly not for you. One practical note that surprised me: TiN is slick enough that the gun runs noticeably smoother when dirty. That's the underrated benefit.
